Perfectly sweet and frothy homemade healthy matcha latte that's a great alternative to your morning coffee. Recipe for both hot and cold latte!

Ingredients

Scale

Hot Matcha Latte:

  • 1/2 cup of boiling water
  • 3 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon barley grass powder

Cold Matcha Latte

  • 1.5 cup of oat milk
  • 3 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon barley grass powder
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

Hot Matcha Latte:

  1. In a high-speed blender, add the dates and hot water and let it soak for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  2. Add rest of the ingredients and blend on high speed for a full minute until all the dates are broken down and blended.

Cold Matcha Latte:

  1. In a high-speed blender, add all the ingredients and blend at high speed for full two minutes.
  2. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the matcha latte.

Notes

  • For the hot matcha latte, dates get soaked in hot water to get broken down easier. For a cold matcha latte, you need to blend the mixture a little longer. This might make your latte slightly warm due to the high speed of the blender. But once you pour them over ice, you'd still get your delicious iced matcha latte.
  • I used 3 dates and it was plenty sweet. But if you'd like it to be sweeter, I recommend adding agave or maple syrup. Adding more than 3 dates resulted in a slight grainy texture of the latte.
