Learn how to cook frozen green beans in just 5 minutes using a simple skillet method. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for busy weeknights.
8 ounces frozen French green beans
2 teaspoons olive oil
½ teaspoon garlic salt
Place frozen green beans in a colander and run under the hottest tap water for 30–45 seconds, until the white frozen sheen is gone. Drain well.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the drained beans and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring, until the beans are heated through and bright green. Serve immediately.
This recipe makes 2 large servings or about 3 smaller servings.
I use French green beans (haricots verts) since they are slender and cook quickly, but regular cut green beans also work. You may need about 30 seconds more cooking time if they are thicker.
Do not overcook. I rarely sauté my beans for more than 90 seconds so they stay crisp and bright.
