Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 individual flatbreads (naan, pita, or similar)

  • 3 ounces whipped cream cheese (or regular cream cheese)

  • 2 teaspoons capers, minced

  • 4 ounces cold-smoked salmon

  • 1 Persian cucumber or English cucumber, thinly sliced

  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon everything bagel seasoning, divided

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Optional garnish: thinly sliced red onion, fresh dill, freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Warm the flatbread.
Warm the flatbread according to package directions until heated through. Let cool slightly before spreading.
  2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture.
In a small bowl, mix the whipped cream cheese and minced capers until evenly combined.
  3. Spread and season.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each flatbread. Sprinkle about half of the everything bagel seasoning over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Layer the toppings.
Arrange the cucumber slices and smoked salmon over the flatbread, alternating for even coverage. If the salmon slices are large, cut them into smaller pieces before layering.
  5. Finish.
Sprinkle the remaining everything bagel seasoning over the top. Add optional garnishes if using. Just before serving, squeeze fresh lemon over each flatbread.

Notes

  • For additional tips on seasoning balance, spreading technique, and serving style, refer to the Tips for Success section above.
  • Whipped cream cheese spreads more easily, but regular cream cheese works if softened.

  • Do not skip the lemon! It brightens and balances the richness.

  • For less salt, reduce the seasoning and sprinkle lightly over the top only.
