Almond butter smoothie with banana

A creamy and tasty smoothie with almond butter, frozen banana, almond milk, ground flaxseeds, cinnamon, and protein powder! This healthy and delicious breakfast smoothie will keep you full and happy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/2 cup almond milk (other milk of your choice or water)
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter 
  • 2 frozen banana
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
  • 1 to 2 scoops protein powder of your choice
  • Ice cubes (if you want a thicker consistency)

Instructions

  1. Add almond milk, almond butter, banana, ground flaxseeds, and ground cinnamon in a blender. 
  2. Blend until smooth. If you want a thicker consistency, add some ice cubes (3 to 4 cubes at a time). Blend again until smooth.
  3. Add protein powder of your choice and blend in the lowest setting until the protein powder is well incorporated.
  4. Enjoy.

Notes

  • Use frozen bananas for the thicker consistency. But if you are using fresh bananas, add some more ice cubes. 
  • If you don't have almond milk or any milk, just use water. You can add a little more almond butter to compensate for creaminess. After all, almond milk is just ground up almond (=almond butter) and water, right?!
  • Add your protein powder at the end at the lowest setting to prevent the smoothie from becoming foamy.
  • Adjust each amount of ingredients to your liking.
